June 1922
I was having a gay time at the party that night. Drinks were flowing across the room, men and women enjoying themselves. It was a very good evening.
I had hoped that at least two people would attend the party that night. Nick Carraway, and a beautiful girl by the name of Daisy Buchanan.
I might as well come clean.
A long time ago me and Daisy were a loving couple. It was a love unrivaled by Romeo and Juliet, or Cleopatra and Marc Antony. I had never thought I would meet a girl so beautiful, however at the time I was poor and tried to pull myself off as rich to impress her. Unfortunately I had to join in the war effort and leave Daisy behind. Now I see what happened. She met a new man and lived a new life. However, I had always wanted to meet her once more. That is the real reason I host all of these parties.
But lo, I have more news.
I had a feeling that the young Nick Carraway had seemed familiar to me. As it turns out, after meeting with him, turns out he was in the Third Division, Ninth Machine Gun Battalion during the Great War. We talked for a bit and I also got to see a young Jordan baker, a very... Infamous golfer. I told her I was an Oxford man and some other tidbits of my life. It was surely an exciting night.
How was your weekend my friends?
